Yesterday I baked with a young, but very talented, pastry chef. When I met Cora earlier this week, she told me that she likes to bake, but rarely follows a recipe. I have to admit, I was dubious, but once we started baking, it was clear she knew her way around the kitchen. Spoiler alert: the lava cakes turned out perfectly. You can repeat her recipe below, or watch the video to see us in action.

- 1/4 cup sugar, plus extra for ramekins
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
- 3/4 cup semisweet chocolate
- 1 pinch salt
- 2 eggs
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- softened butter for ramekins
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Line 3 or 4 ramekins with softened butter and dust with sugar.
- Mix together flour, sugar, baking soda, and baking powder in a medium bowl and set aside.
